Da Lat Architecture & Churches: Suggested Route

This suggested route highlights Da Lat’s natural scenery and distinctive attractions. Use it to plan a visit at your own pace.

Domaine de Marie Church, Da Lat Cathedral and Crazy House show very different sides of the city’s religious, French-era and experimental architecture.

Da Lat contains architecture from very different periods and styles. Domaine de Marie Church is known for its pink exterior and distinctive roof form; Da Lat Cathedral is a major religious landmark associated with the city’s French-colonial development; Crazy House is known for experimental curves and organic forms. Check current opening hours and interior access for each place before visiting.

Suggested itinerary

  1. Domaine de Marie Church

The church stands on Mai Anh Hill and combines European church forms with a roof inspired by Central Highlands architecture. Its silhouette is notable for having no bell tower at the top.

  2. Da Lat Cathedral

The cathedral follows a Roman-style church plan with strong symmetry and a bell tower about 47 metres high. It is a major landmark associated with Da Lat’s development during the French colonial period.

  3. Crazy House

Crazy House is an unconventional architectural space built around curves and organic forms rather than straight lines. Tree- and cave-like shapes, narrow passages and stairways define its unusual character.

Suggested Visit Duration

Time at each place varies with interior access, photography, breaks and visitor numbers. Use the individual visit-time guides and check travel time between locations separately.
